Income earned is subject to tax, the rate ranges from 0 – 26% depending on the tax status of the MM2H participants during the calendar year. The working hours of the part-time job is maximum 20 hours per week. The part-time positions can be as lecturer or working in any local Malaysian companies.

Qualified MM2H participants aged 50 and above are allowed to take up part-time positions to earn income in Malaysia. However, MM2H participants can conduct business and investment activities in Malaysia subject to the rules and regulations of Malaysia. Under the MM2H programme, participants are NOT allowed to be gainfully employed.
